Verortung postkolonialen Denkens & intervenierende Ansätze [Online-Symposium]

Wir freuen uns, dass ihr auf unsere Veranstaltung aufmerksam geworden seid, und möchten euch ganz herzlich einladen an unserem Online-Symposium am 7. und 8. Mai 2021 zum Thema “Verortung postkolonialen Denkens und intervenierende Ansätze” teilzunehmen!

Gesellschaftliche Strukturen und Hierarchien, welche Ungleichheiten fördern, müssen mit ihrer Kolonialgeschichte und den daraus hervorgehenden Kontinuitäten betrachtet werden. Dazu möchten wir machterhaltende, diskriminierende Strukturen und auch Ausdrucks- und Herangehensweisen widerständiger Positionen in den Blick nehmen. Es wird nötig sein, Gelerntes zu hinterfragen und zuzuhören.

Was haben gesellschaftliche Ungleichheiten und Rassismus mit Kolonialismus zu tun? Wo kommt Kolonialismuskritik mit Aktivismus zusammen? Was kann Kunst? Welche Kraft hat Sprache und welche Rolle spielt Emotion? Wer will gehört werden und wer hört zu? Wie findet Erinnerung statt?

Entlang dieser Fragen nehmen sich wundervolle Menschen die Zeit, die Teilnehmenden mit unterschiedlichen Beitragsformen und Schwerpunkten, zu einer Auseinandersetzung mit post-/dekolonialem Denken einzuladen. Dabei erlauben künstlerische sowie akademische Herangehensweisen der Beitragenden unterschiedliche Zugänge.

We are glad that you became aware of our event and would like to invite you to participate in our Online-Symposium on May 7th and 8th on “Situating Postcolonial Thinking & Intervening Approaches”!

Social structures and hierarchies that support inequalities need to be considered with their (colonial) history and the continuities that emerge from it. To this end, we would like to look at power-maintaining, discriminatory structures and also ways of expression and approaches of resistant positions. It will be necessary to question what has been learned and to listen.

What do social inequalities and racism have to do with colonialism? Where does the critique of colonialism come together with activism? What impact has art? What power does language have and what role does emotion play? Who wants to be heard and who listens? How does memory take place?

Along these questions, wonderful people take the time to invite participants to engage with post- and decolonial thinking through various forms of contribution and focus. Artistic as well as academic approaches of the contributors allow different approaches.
